What you need

Your iPad and Mac on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest and public networks often stop devices from seeing each other. The companion must be running on the Mac.

Pair

  1. On the Mac, open DeusPen Settings › Devices › Pair an iPad.The Mac shows a QR code and a pairing code for two minutes.
  2. On the iPad, open the side rail and tap Mac, then Pair a Mac.Or tap Scan or type the code once the iPad has found your Mac.
  3. Scan the QR code, or type the code.A code has 10 letters and digits, like 7KQ4M-X2P9D.
  4. Allow Local Network on both devices when asked.DeusPen uses it to find and talk to your other device.

Over Wi-Fi, everything between your iPad and Mac is encrypted and stays on your local network, and goes only to a device you have paired.

Smoothing

In the Mac panel of the side rail, Smoothing has three settings: Lowest delay, Automatic and Smoothest. Start with Automatic. Choose Smoothest if lines look jagged on a busy network.

Wi-Fi feels laggy? Plug in USB-C to compare, then follow the Wi-Fi troubleshooting guide.

Reconnecting

Once paired, the devices reconnect on their own when both are awake and on the same network. If they do not, plug in the cable once, or check Local Network.

Still stuck? Email support@deuspen.com with your iPad and computer models, the app you draw in, whether you were on the cable or Wi-Fi, and what you expected. The Diagnostics panel in the companion's Settings shows the connection state in words; tell us what it says.
